This post provides a lot of great information about preventive medicine.   This particular blog is written by a physician and cardiologist from Iceland.  In my opinion, people pay attention to their doctor’s advice about lifestyle changes leading to the prevention of many of our current chronic diseases, namely heart disease.  It’s too bad that more medical doctors in the U.S.  do not have the basic knowledge about nutrition and health.  Whether it’s low fat, low carbohydrate or a Mediterranean-type,  a diet should enhance one’s health and not just focus on weight loss.   Although he seems to favor the low carb approach, he does provide some good advice about choosing the best diet for you.  CLICK HERE.
