The worst resolution is “going on a diet” and the best one is “eat for health” . The best diet is a lifestyle you can live with. I’ve always thought that with a little research from legitimate sources (Weight Watchers, licensed nutritionists, for example) the best diet for anyone is one that they decide they can handle for themselves that includes the foods they choose. It’s very difficult to follow someone else telling you what to eat and what not to eat. I remember the rice cakes days found in many diet books of the time – thankfully it was a fad that has hopefully faded and they tasted like cardboard, in my opinion. Reading diet book after diet book is tedious to say the least. I like Michael Pollan’s advice – ” Eat food, Not too much, Mostly plants”. Simple advice but rich in wisdom.
