Well, another year and another bunch of fad diets along with their gimmicks and gadgets. My favorite is still the Mediterranean Diet which has some relatively sound science to back it up. In addition, the Mediterranean Diet is not really a weight loss diet; its emphasis is health. The rest are questionable (my opinion).
The FODMAP diet has some science that backs it up; however, this diet is not considered a weight loss diet and is suggested only for people with digestive issues such as irritable bowel syndrome as it can be very restrictive initially. It is recommended that it be attempted with the supervision of a registered dietitian or a health professional with some nutrition training,
