When it comes to complex food issues,  Marion Nestle provides us with a real understanding of the complexities including sustainability, soda taxes, the food industry and our obesity/diabetes problem.  You name it, she has a fair and encompassing opinion. After 30 years in the nutrition field, she tells us what she thinks of what has happened up to now and where it may go from here.

Bottom Line: If we care about the future of the U.S. food supply,  consumers need to become involved at the local political levels and demand responsible action to curb the growing influence of politics in the food industry. Her latest book, Unsavory Truth: How Food Companies Skew the Science of What We Eat is a definite eye-opener to show how pervasive food companies have become in an attempt to control the U.S. food supply.
