Again and again – dietary supplements fail to deliver promised claims. A varied nutrient-dense diet provides phytochemicals and other substances that are not nutrients but that have health-promoting properties. These benefits are not duplicated by taking supplements.  Science has not yet identified  all the the substances contained in these foods, nor have they determined all of their effects on human health.  Source: Smolin and Grosvenor.
