The Standard American Diet: Is it Killing Us?

Our diets are killing us.  According to the CDC, Six in 10 adults in the U.S. have a chronic disease and four in 10 adults have two or more. Lifestyle factors (diet and others) are beginning to show us that they matter for our health.

The countries with the lowest heart disease rates are 1) Japan, 2) France, 3) Canada, 4) Korea 5) Iceland, 6) Spain, 7) Switzerland, 8) New Zealand, 9) Netherlands, 10) Italy, 11) Luxembourg, 12) Denmark. How do their diets compare with ours?  In four words: sugar, starch, salt, fat?
